IDEUM

IDEUM is the local Department of Labour and Head of Department and staff manager at Arvidsjaur municipality.

It is located in the city of Arvidsjaur, in a building with large rooms suitable for a variety of activities organized by and for young people. 10 people are employed by Ideum.

Our main goal is to help people improving their employability through trying new working experiences.

 

Ideum works with several categories of participants:

• Many of them are considered people with special needs (for example because of unemployment, health problems, school drop-out, or social disadvantages). The main goal of the organization is to increase working and life-quality expectancies for this people.

• As part of the "Department of Increase" (municipal growth unit), with a mandate to spread awareness and understanding of international issues for young people.

• Ideum also works closely with the local secondary school. Students who do not find place in high school have the opportunity to practice on Ideum, so that they can go on learning and further developing their skills through a vocational training.

 

In order to fulfill its main goal, Ideum also has good relationships with entrepreneurs in the city, which means that more young people have the chance to practice in extreme situations (internship as tool to exit immediately from a difficult social situation).

 

Having a good relationship with companies means that youngsters have more possibilities of being offered employment after the internship.

 

Thanks to its long-term activity for European placement mobility, IDEUM will be able to contribute effectively to PLACET’s analysis and tool production and dissemination and to fulfil the project’s aims in cooperation with the placement companies of its country’s network.
